It’s not often that the media come in for praise at a public meeting.
More often than not they’re being blamed for something.
But at a recent meeting of the Borris-in-Ossory/Mountmellick Municipal District, chairman Ollie Clooney paid tribute to the local media for the role played during the Coronavirus pandemic.
“Our local media were absolutely brilliant during the pandemic in keeping us informed and up to date,” said Cllr Clooney.
“When we couldn’t go to the pub, when we couldn’t go to mass, when we could go nowhere, the media did a brilliant job.
“I want to pay tribute to them because their work is greatly appreciated.
“People should support LaoisToday and support the local papers. Support what’s good when we have it.”
