There is widespread shock in Portarlington today at the sudden death of Colaiste Iosagain teacher Emily Seery.
A native of Edenderry in Offaly and only aged in her mid 30s, Ms Seery died suddenly on Sunday.
She has been an established member of the Colaiste Iosagain staff for the past number of years where she taught French and German.
She was also heavily involved in the school’s musical productions over the years.
The Seery family are known across Offaly as owners of the Seery Coach Hire business.
Emily is survived by her husband Vinny Rowe, son Louis and parents.
“We were all shocked and saddened to hear of the sudden death of our colleague Emily Seery this morning,” said Colaiste Iosagain in a statement today.
“Everyone rallied around as they always do in our school. Our grief is nothing compared to that of Vinny, Louis and her Mam and Dad. Rest in Peace Emily.”
