Laois Gardai are set to renew their appeal into an attempted post office raid on TV next week.
The issue of the attempted burglary of Mountmellick Post Office is set to be raised on Monday’s edition of CrimeCall on RTE One.
The incident in question occurred around 10am on July 15 in the town.
Witnesses reported that a man, armed with a firearm, entered the premises.
He made threats to staff and demanded cash in what was a terrifying ordeal.
However, the man subsequently fled the scene empty handed and thankfully nobody was injured.
Gardai have not made any arrests in relation to this crime but continue to investigate.
They say: “We are renewing our appeal regarding the attempted robbery of the Post Office in Mountmellick on the morning of the 15th July 2021.
“The footage will be available to view on #Crimecall on the 20th December 2021.

CrimeCall, presented by Sharon Ni Bheolain, will air on Monday December 20 on RTE One at 9.30pm.
