A Laois man with a big heart brought some Christmas cheer to his town once again this year.
Ned Horan rode around Mountmellick on a white horse, dressed as Santa Claus, on Christmas morning.
The 70-year-old retired builder has been doing this for the last decade.
And according to daughter-in-law Ciara Walsh, he wasn’t going to allow Covid-19 to stop him from bringing a Christmas smile to people’s faces.
Ten years ago, Ned surprised his family with the Santa outfit and it has since become a family tradition for him, his seven children and many grandchildren
He usually does a lap of the town with a few pit stops to the various housing estates along the way.
A keen horse enthusiast, Ned once trekked across the Sahara Desert to raise money for the Irish Heart Foundation.
Fair play Ned!
