The death has occurred of Anne Goodwin, the popular and long-serving CEO of the Laois Partnership company.
In recent times, Anne headed up the Laois Partnership section and was in regular contact with businesses and community groups.
Prior to her illness in recent years, she was a regular attendee at various community-organised events, chief among them the hugely successful Laois Walks Festival.
Pleasant and professional in her dealings with those she came across, she leaves a positive legacy across a wide range of projects across the county.
“It is with deep sadness that we learned this morning of the death of our CEO Anne Goodwin,” said Peter O’Neill who is chairman of Laois Partnership on behalf of the board of the Laois Partnership Company.
“Anne was a wonderful colleague, leader and mentor and we will miss her in the weeks and years to come.
“Her work in Laois through LEADER is a legacy that will remain for decades.
“Our thoughts and sympathies are with her family, friends and colleagues.”
Anne (nee O’Sullivan) passed away at her home in Kilbride, Portarlington, in the loving care of her much loved family, her husband Rodney and her daughters Alice and Martha.
Anne will be much missed by her mother Nora, sister Gráinne, brother Eamonn, and her extended family, mother-in-law Shirley, Lyle, Neil, Velma, Hugo, Mike and her nieces and nephews.
Anne’s funeral arrangements will be announced later.
