A popular Laois pantomime has been forced to cancel their shows for this year due to the Coronavirus.
The 34th annual production of the Rathdowney Pantomime was set to be another original production, written by Joe Hyde and Karen Holohan.
The show was called ‘Rags to Riches in Japan’. Ireland have just qualified for the Rugby World cup finals, and by hook or by crook, everyone wants to go.
Staying in a hotel run by the Fawltys, leads to all kinds of shenanigans.
However, it has now been postponed until next year.
Organiser Pat Keating explained: “Rathdowney Pantomime Committee would like to advise that due to the current ongoing Covid-19 situation the decision has been made to postpone “Rags To Riches In Japan” until February or March 2021.
“Hopefully we will then be in a position to host our Panto adhering to Government and HSE guidelines at that time as health and well-being is most important to us.
“We hope all our cast and crew members along with the wider community are all safe and well at this time and we look forward to seeing you all early next year to pick up where we left off.
“Thank you all for your continued support and understanding at this time.”
