The Laois Lions wheelchair rugby charity tractor run is back for 2020 and it is shaping up to be a good one.
Taking place on Sunday 23rd of February starting from 1pm and with a new and improved route starting at Vicarstown Community Hall – it is guaranteed to be a good day out for all.
The Wheelchair rugby club are based in Laois but cover most of Leinster.
They are currently league champions and train in Vicarstown.
Club wheelchair rugby was introduced to Ireland in 1997 and Laois’s very own Garrett Culliton was the one to introduce it.
It’s a very competitive sport. The team train every Tuesday night in Vicarstown Community hall.
A spokesperson for the club said: “We hold the run to help pay for the use of the hall and all other expense during the year.
“This is our second year doing the truck and tractor run we are hoping for a big turn out.”
Registration is at 12 and they will leave the hall at 1pm to do a 32km run then back to hall for tea and refreshments and spot prizes.
“We have had some very kind sponsorship from Dunkeen oil and SuperValu Stradbally if any business would be interested in sponsoring our run we would appreciate it”
