Meet your Candidates: Favourite film? Preferred dinner guests? We got some right good suggestions here

The clock is ticking. General Election 2020 is now just 10 days away.

And here at LaoisToday, we have surveyed all of the 26 candidates who are running in Laois-Offaly and Kildare South.

We asked candidates a total of 13 questions and 16 of them responded in full.

Some of the questions were serious, others were a bit more light-hearted.

We will be publishing their responses every evening between now and the election itself on February 8.

While yesterday we published their responses to what they see as the biggest issue in their constituency is, today we go down a much different route.

What four guests (dead or alive) would they most like to ask to a dinner party? And what is their favourite film.

As you’d expect we got some varied answers.

Noting Hill, The Wind that Shakes the Barley, Shawshank Redemption and Moulin Rouge are among the favourite films.

Thierry Henry, Bertie Ahern, Michelle Obama, Greta Thunberg and, quite bizarrely, Alan Hartnett feature among the suggested dinner guests.

You can check out the answers in full below.
