Two soccer supporters clubs have come together to raise €600 for the Kolbe Special School in Portlaoise.
The Laois Republic of Ireland Soccer Supporters Club and the Liverpool Town Reds Supporters Club teamed up to come up with the funds.
They played a match against each other in the Leisure Centre and then went on to a draw in Humes on December 13.
A spokesperson for Laois RISSC said: “We were Delighted to present the Kolbe Special School with a cheque for €600.
“This is from our recent Charity Game and Prize Draw that we organised with the Liverpool Town Reds Supporters Club.
“A big thanks to Liam “Stapo” Brown who sponsored and hosted a fantastic night in Humes that was enjoyed by everyone present with our resident Laois RISSC singers Barry Whelan and Richard Oxley providing the entertainment.
“It was brilliant for members of both supporters clubs to meet some really incredible kids and the staff who do amazing work in the school looking after them.
“Thanks again to everyone who got involved for a really special cause.”
