A local man in his 30s suffered serious injuries following a vicious assault while sitting in his own car in Portlaoise at the weekend.
The incident – which happened just after 9pm on Friday last, June 16 – occurred on Jessop Street in the town. Two males approached the man and attacked him, leaving with a broken collarbone and a suspected broken jaw.
The man was taken to hospital, but has since been discharged.
