Earlier this month the service and dedication of four teachers from one Laois secondary school was celebrated.
The staff of Mountrath Community School, along with invited family guests, gathered in the Killeshin Hotel to celebrate two of their teachers who have retired and another two who have moved on to new schools.
Ms Tina Cushen and Ms Catherine Donlon were honoured in their retirement after a lifetime of service to both Mountrath Community School and Ballyfin College.
Also celebrated on the night were teachers Ms Bronagh Gorry and Ms Susanne Kavanagh, who have both moved on to pastures new in Tullamore and Galway, respectively.
Speeches on the night were made by friends and colleagues of the ladies, a testament to their legacy of education, kindness and friendship.
The students and staff, both past and present, of MCS will fondly remember the service, dedication and friendship of these ladies for many years to come.
They would like to wish Catherine and Tina a happy retirement and Bronagh and Suzanne all the best in their new roles.
