Borris-in-Ossory Kilcotton may have lost the county final, but that won’t stop them in doing something for the community.
They are launching “BK Connects” on Friday 25th October in St. Joesphs School Hall in Borris-in-Ossory at 8pm.
“BK Connects” is a new concept by Borris-in-Ossory Kilcotton GAA Club that aims to promote activities and events encouraging participation across the wider community.
“The initiative represents a movement within our club encouraging people to engage with each other and connect in the spirit of supporting and positively influencing our community’s sense of identity and belonging and benefitting participants overall health and wellbeing”.
The first event will be a talk, hosted by Newstalks Will O’Callaghan along with former Waterford hurling manager Derek McGrath, Irish Olympic Team Psychologist Niamh Fitzpatrick, Parish Priest and Athletics Coach Fr. Robert Fletcher and Irish Sprinter Sharlene Mawdsley.
Guests on the night will be speaking on a range of topics surrounding community initiatives on the night including “Choosing on the Right Road”, “Community Support through Hard Times” and “The Potential in every Community”.
Following on from the launch night, Borris-in-Ossory Kilcotton will be commencing a “Walk and Talk” series on Bank Holiday Monday 28th October at 11am in Kilasmeestia and continuing each Wednesday night and weekend thereafter.
All events are free and all are welcome.
