The rain held off and there was plenty of craic – it was a right good day in the Annanough GAA grounds in Vicarstown on Sunday as the club hosted its annual family fun day to bring the curtain down on the juvenile season.
Underage games took place between all the various age groups and there was also a big clash between the coaches and a team of the club’s younger players.
Bouncing castle, obstacle course, hook a duck and a ball-kicking game were among the attractions also.
There was also a special visitor as Laois footballer Ross Munnelly was on hand to make the medal presentations while the club’s Healthy Club co-ordinator Rory Stapleton made a presentation on the club’s project, one that has seen the club receive wide-ranging praise for.
But arguably the most enjoyable aspect was the colour run that took place around the track in the club grounds, one that saw children and adults of all ages take part and end up covered in all sorts of colours following the novelty event.
All in good sport of course.
The Annanough GAA underage Sunday morning sessions are finished for now but there will be activities over the winter months also.
Our photographer Julie Anne Miller went along today where she captured a selection of great images from a very enjoyable day.
