A total of eighty students received their Leaving Certificate results at Portlaoise College today.
They achieved excellent results which is a testament to their hard work and commitment to their studies over the past two years.
The Portlaoise school also recorded a 100 percent pass rate in honours maths.
Principal Noel Daly said: “We are especially proud of our results in our STEM subjects and 100 percent pass rate in higher level maths
“The students worked very hard which was reflected in their results with the majority of our student’s achieving the points required to study their first choice courses which range from; Law, Nursing, Engineering, Bio-Medical Science, Games Development, Primary School Teaching to Music & Drama.
“A number of students have also chosen to defer their place in College and instead study in the various one year full-time courses available at Portlaoise Institute, which I believe is a great preparation for Third Level.
“Also well done to our teachers on their hard work, encouragement and guidance in helping the Leaving Certificate class of 2019 to achieve such outstanding results.
“We wish all our students the very best in their future career paths or on their exciting new journeys ahead.”
Many thanks to Deputy Principal Keith McClearn for sending in these great photos.
