A family are hosting a fundraiser in Stradbally in memorial of their son who lost his life to suicide.
Kevin McCarthy is hosting the memorial for his son Keith’s birthday on Sunday, August 4 in Napper Tandy’s Bar and Venue Stradbally.
Kevin explains that they are hosting the event on Keith’s birthday to keep his memory alive.
“Last year we gathered and let off Chinese lanterns on his birthday, and this year we wanted to do something a bit different. It’s also for a good cause as Teac Tom have helped us so much,” said the Stradbally native.
The proceeds from the fundraiser in memory of Keith are going towards Teac Tom Stradbally.
Teac Tom supports individuals and their families affected by suicide, or contemplating suicide.
Teac Tom now provides monthly group meetings as well as one to one counselling, family and sibling support group and play therapy for children.
Tickets for the event are €10 and include free entry into a special raffle for a full day tattoo session up to a maximum of €350, provided by the extremely talented Dan Bailey Mbe of True Blue Private Tattoo Parlour Stradbally.
Brendan Lynch of Napper Tandy’s is also donating the use of his function room.
Kevin says that if the night goes down well, they will hope to make it an annual memorial and fundraiser.
Music will be provided by ‘Panic Animal’ and it is sure to be a night not to be missed, a band not to be missed and a prize not to be missed, all for a worthy cause and in memory of Keith.
