Huge Laois success at Kickboxing Ireland National Championships

The Kickboxing Ireland National Championships took place recently up in Cavan, with huge Laois success.

An U-18 team of Portlaoise representatives travelled to participate in the championships.

The team was hugely successful, combining for a total of 13 medals at the championships, therefore securing 11 spots on the Irish National team.

All athletes who took gold or silver have qualified to represent Team Ireland at the upcoming WAKO European Championships 2025.

The Portlaoise team, from the Portlaoise Combat Academy, won a total of nine gold medals.

Adriana Pukel claimed three Golds while Wiktor Stankiewicz picked up two.

Ivo Kalnins, Aivo Kalnins, Emilis Kazbaras and Gabriel Iliev all scooped one gold medal.

Maksim Pukel claimed two medals, silver and bronze, while Cataleya Philipott (silver) and Kajus Kazbaras (bronze) completed the set.

The Portlaoise team’s outstanding performance left them ranked 7th in Ireland based on the results from this competition.
