Laois warmed up for their National Camogie League Division 3A final with a comprehensive win away to Wicklow on Saturday.
The visitors were already guaranteed of their place in the showpiece regardless of the result today.
Laois began this game with a point from Kaylee O’Keefe but Wicklow hit back through Ciara Lancaster and Elizabeth Bourke.
Aimee Collier and Eimear Hassett restored Laois’s advantage and they never looked back after Susie Delaney rattled the net.
They were thankful to keeper Aedin Lowry at the midpoint of the half who made a great save from a 21 metre free.
O’Keefe and Collier scored again for Laois as Delaney helped herself to a second first half goal.
Sophie Bermingham responded for Wicklow but Laois led 2-6 to 0-4 at half time.
Alanna Tynan and Susie Delaney pointed when play resumed before Lowry made another great save from a close range free.
Sophie Bermingham was Wicklow’s only scorer in the second half as she added four points to her tally.
That was never going to be enough as Grainne Delaney came off the bench to contribute 1-4 to ensure Laois won by 13 in the end.
Laois will now play Roscommon, who they beat in Round 4, in the final.
That is scheduled for April 12 and will take place in Abbotstown once again.
Laois reached the final last year and lost to Armagh by a point so will be hopeful to change that outcome this time.
