The Laois minor footballers have named their captain, vice-captain and team ahead of their Leinster championship opener on Friday.
Portlaoise’s Mark O’Connor will captain the side that is managed by Stradbally’s John Larkin.
He will be assisted by Crettyard’s Fionnan Brennan and O’Dempsey’s Ultan Dunne.
Laois begin their minor campaign at home to Louth on Saturday in O’Moore Park at 2pm.
Laois face Dublin away in Round 2 on April 10 before also travelling for their final group game to Offaly on April 17.
If Laois top the group, they advance straight to the semi finals while if they finish second they will be in a quarter final.
If they finish third they will face the runner up from the group involving Wicklow, Carlow and Wexford in a preliminary quarter final.
While if they finish bottom, their Leinster campaign will be over and they will move on to Tier 3 of the All-Ireland series.
To reach Tier 1 of the All-Ireland series, Laois will have to qualify for the Leinster final.
For Tier 2, Laois would have to lose either the semi final or quarter final of the Leinster championship.
