A Laois builder is featuring on a new TG4 series which is focusing on the Irish construction sector.
Dave Fingleton, from Ratheniska, is one of many independent builders contributing to ‘Na Builders’ which airs on Thursday evenings at 9.30pm.
The series is running for seven weeks and episode two is on this evening – the only episode which Dave does not appear in.
Dave is the owner of Warmhome Construction and specialises in warm and insulated homes.
His practice is a bit like LEGO where he uses foam bricks in which he pours concrete into.
Dave has been running the business for the last 15 years and was doing regular building before that.
He started out as a carpenter by trade and travelled the world – living in Canada and Korea amongst many other places.
Episode One, which you can catch on the TG4 player, saw Dave team up Florent Villiard.
Mr Villiard is featured throughout the series owner of one of the houses we see Dave work on throughout the series.
Its a unique project in the Slieve Bloom Mountains where he is building an extension onto a pre existing cottage
A spokesperson for TG4 outlined what the show is all about.
They said: “There are over 160,000 people employed in the construction industry in Ireland.
“These people build, renovate and reimagine our countryside and our towns.
“‘Na Builders’ is an original, home-grown series for TG4 that shines the spotlight on construction workers from across the country as they battle the elements – and occasionally each other – to get the job done.
“We’ll be spending time with builders of all shapes and sizes, in rural and urbans settings; we’ll be looking at what they are building and who they are building for and getting a real sense of where we are in building Ireland these days
“From bricklayers to electricians, plumbers to roofers, plasterers to carpenters these hard- working men and women are part of our everyday lives in Ireland.”
