James (Séamus) Francis, Moyvilla, Oranmore, Co. Galway. 24th March 2025. Formerly of Dangan, Galway and Mountmellick Co. Laois. Peacefully in the loving care of The Little Flower Nursing Home, Labane. Predeceased by his parents John and Nora, sister Sheila and brother John. Beloved father to Órla, Áine, James, Clare, Ciara and their mother Chris, grandchildren Conor, Fionn, Dara, Roísín, Dáithí, Clodagh, Tara and Liam, sons-in-law Robert, Philip, David and Tim, brothers Willie, Michael and Pat, sister Eileen, nephews, nieces, neighbours, wide circle of friends and colleagues of An Garda Síochána.

Reposing at Suaimhneas on the grounds of The Church of the Annunciation, Clarinbridge (H91HW58) this Friday evening 28th March 2025 from 5pm to 6.30pm followed by removal to the Church. Funeral Mass on Saturday 29th March 2025 at 11am in the Church of the Annunciation, Clarinbridge. Mass will be broadcast on parish radio 106.2FM and can be viewed on parish website http://clarinbridgeparish.ie Burial afterwards in local cemetery.

John (Frederick) Kennedy
Church Street, Rathdowney, Laois/Stradbally, Laois

The death has occurred of John (Frederick) Kennedy, Church Street, Rathdowney, Co. Laois and formerly Timogue and Ballycoolan, Stradbally, peacefully, on the 25th of March 2025 at Oakdale Nursing Home, Portarlington, Co. Laois. Predeceased by his parents, brothers Robert (Bob) and Larry.

Sadly missed and fondly remembered by his sisters Rachel and Violet, brother Joe, sister-in-law, brother-in-law, nieces, nephews, extended family and his many friends.

Reposing at The Presentation Chapel, Stradbally from 5pm to 8pm on Thursday (27th March), with prayers at 8pm. Removal on Friday (28th March) at 1:45pm to arrive at St. Patrick’s Church of Ireland, Stradbally for Funeral Service at 2pm followed by burial in Oakvale Cemetery, Stradbally.

Paddy Kealey. Sheffield Cross. Portlaoise. Co. Laois. March 24th 2025. Passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family. Predeceased by his wife Mary. Deeply regretted by his loving daughters Mary and Caroline. Sons, Sonny, Martin and Brian. Their partners, Sandra, Tracey and Jezette. Sons in law, Michael and Eamon. Sister Bridie. Sisters in law. Grandchildren. Great grandchildren. Nieces, nephews. Relatives, neighbours and friends.

Reposing at his family home (R32D590) on Wednesday from 3pm until rosary recital at 7 pm. Removal on Thursday to arrive at SS Peter and Paul’s Church for 11 am requiem mass. Burial afterwards in SS Peter and Paul’s Cemetery, Portlaoise

Josephine (Josie) Flynn (née Lakes)
Vicarstown, Laois/Old Leighlin, Carlow

The death has occurred of Josephine, better known as Josie Flynn (née Lakes), Vicarstown, Co. Laois and formerly Old Leighlin, Co. Carlow, unexpectedly, on the 24th of March 2025 at her residence in her 95th year. Predeceased by her husband William (Bill), her parents John and Bridget, brothers Thomas and Johnny, sister Mary Farrell and her niece Josephine Coleman.

Deeply regretted by her sister, Sr. Beatrice Lakes, Brigidine Convent, Tullow, Co. Carlow, nieces Bernadette, Catherine, Beatrice, Carmel, Josie (UK), nephews William (USA), John (USA), Jonnie (UK), Liam (UK) and Vincent (UK), grandnieces, grandnephews, great-grandnieces, great-grandnephews, extended families, kind neighbours and friends.

Reposing at her residence on Wednesday from 2pm, with Recital of the Rosary at 8pm. Requiem Mass on Thursday in the Church of the Assumption, Vicarstown at 10am. Interment to follow in Oakvale Cemetery, Stradbally.

Denis Geraghty
3 The Glebe, Rathdowney, Laois/Santry, Dublin

Denis Geraghty, 3 The Glebe, Rathdowney, Co. Laois and formerly Santry, Co. Dublin (ex British Embassy), peacefully surrounded by those who loved him. Predeceased by his beloved wife Marie and his brothers and sisters.

Sadly missed and remembered with love his adored daughter Deborah, son Declan, grandchildren Morgan, Mia, Luca, Ryan, Aidan and Kiara, his best friend and brother-in-law Noel and his wife Ann, extended family, neighbours and a wide circle of friends.

Funeral arriving at the Church of the Most Holy Trinity, Rathdowney on Wednesday March 26th. 2025 for Requiem Mass at 12 noon. Interment afterwards in Bealady Cemetery.

Died 23rd March 2025 after a short illness at St. James hospital Dublin surrounded by his loving and heartbroken family. Predeceased by his son Nathan Dargan.

Beloved husband to Deirdre, loving father to his sons Daniel and Ciaran, his daughter Majella, grandchildren, son-in-law, daughters-in-law, brothers, sisters, nephews, nieces, relatives, neighbours and his many friends.

Reposing Moloney’s Funeral Home, Mountmellick on Thursday from 5pm. Recital of The Rosary at 6.30pm. Funeral arriving St.Paul’s Church, Emo on Friday for Requiem Mass at 10am. Cremation Service afterwards at 12.30pm in Newlands Crematorium.
