In what was certainly one of the biggest St Patrick’s Day parades in Laois, the Mountrath one drew a big crowd.
With many of the neighbouring towns and villages not hosting parades this year, organisations from these places made the trip across.
Shanahoe, Ballyfin, Camross, Colt and Trumera were among those with representation.
Originally down for a 12pm start, the parade got underway at 12.30pm.
Starting at the GAA club, this was a celebration all things Irish with music, floats, entertainment, and plenty of craic.
This year’s theme was ‘Green’, so those in attendance were dressed to impress in all shades of the colour.
