A Laois soccer club is asking for community support as they strive to improve facilities for both their club and the wider area.
The main development would see the construction of an Astroturf pitch complete with drainage, floodlighting and fencing, as well as an extension to the carpark and the construction of a new walkway track.
St Anne’s, who play in the Carlow and District Football League, has been a part of Ballylinan and the surrounding areas for many years, offering a safe and fun place for people of all ages to enjoy football.
And now they are asking the people of Ballylinan and the wider community to help raise funds for the project.
A GoFundMe page has been set up and those who wish to donate can do so here.
The club have outlined four main reasons to carry out the development:
“All-Weather Use – No more cancelling games or training sessions because of bad weather. The new pitch will let us play rain or shine,” the club said.
“Improved Facilities – A high-quality 4G surface will help players train better, stay safe, and perform at their best.
“Community Benefits – This pitch isn’t just for our team. It will be available to local schools, community groups, and other sports clubs, offering a great place for everyone to come together.
“Future Growth – A modern pitch will secure the future of football in our area, helping young players grow and ensuring that the club can keep developing for years to come.”
In asking for help to raise funds the club said: “Every donation, no matter how small, will bring us closer to our goal.
“With your support, we can create a state-of-the-art football facility that will benefit Ballylinan and the surrounding areas for generations.
“Thank you for believing in our community and in the power of sports to bring people together.”
