Andy Molloy
Irishtown, Mountmellick, Laois/Mountrath, Laois

Andy Molloy, Irishtown, Mountmellick and formerly of Mountrath Road, Portlaoise.

Died peacefully on Monday 10th March surrounded by his loving family in his 86th year, following a brief illness.

Predeceased by his parents Andrew and Josephine, brother Seamus, nephews Andrew and James.

Andy is survived by his brother John and sister Mary, brothers-in-law and sister-in-law, daughters Dorothy and Yvonne.

Andy will be sadly missed by his adoring wife Julie and their children Andrew, his wife Fiona, Jennifer and her husband John, Robert and Linda and her partner Vinnie, his Grandchildren Seàn Ronan Saoirse Lucy Caolàn and Róisín, nieces, nephews, cousins, neighbours and a huge circle of friends.

Reposing in Moloneys Funeral Home on Wednesday from 5 o’clock, Recital of the Rosary at 6.30pm.

Removal from his home on Thursday at 10.20am to St. Josephs Church for Requiem Mass at 11 o’clock and burial after in St. Josephs Cemetery.

House strictly private at all times.

Passed away Saturday 8th March 2025, peacefully at home.

Deeply regretted and will be sadly missed by his sister Sr. Regina (Mary), brothers Joe and Sean, sisters in law Breda and Una, Aunt and Godmother Hannie Kennedy, nieces Paula and Marie, nephews John, Colm, Joseph and Darren, grandnieces, grandnephews, cousins, extended family, neighbours and friends.

Denis Hayden

Denis Hayden, Retd Sgt Major, Military Police, Ballymorris Road, Portarlington, Co. Laois and late of The Curragh Camp, Co. Kildare. 10th March 2025.

Peacefully in his 94th year at Suncroft Lodge Nursing Home surrounded by his loving family. Predeceased by his loving wife Margaret (Madeline) son Denis (Jazzy), his parents & sisters.

Sadly, missed by his loving family, sons Francis, Philip and Martin, daughters Marion, Carmel and Yvonne, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, sons-in-law Pat and John, daughters-in-law Charlotte, Valerie, Liz and Una, brothers and sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, extended family, relatives and friends.

Reposing at Anderson & Leahy’s Funeral Home, Henry Street, Newbridge, on Tuesday 11th March from 4pm with prayers at 7pm. Removal on Wednesday morning 12th at 10.30am to arrive at St. Brigid’s Church, The Curragh for Requiem Mass at 11am. Denis’s mass will be livestreamed on https://www.facebook.com/TheCurraghChurch/.

Burial afterwards to St. Michael’s Cemetery, Portarlington, Co. Offaly.

Benny Maher
Late of Arlington Estate, Portarlington, Laois

Formerly of Bracklone Street Portarlington County Laois. Peacefully surrounded by his loving family at the Regional Hospital Portlaoise. Predeceased by his parents Paddy and Kitty and sister Pauline. Deeply regretted by his loving stepchildren Denise and Derek, grandchildren Ciaran and Kayla, brothers Pat and Gerard, sisters Marian and Theresa, aunt, uncle, brother-in-law, sister-in-law, nieces, nephews, extended family and many friends.

Reposing at Maher’s Chapel of Rest Portarlington on (eircode R32 X5XV) on Tuesday evening from 6pm with Rosary at 8pm. Removal on Wednesday morning at 9:20am arriving St Michael’s Church Portarlington for Requiem Mass at 10am. Funeral afterwards to St Michael’s Cemetery Portarlington.

Benny’s Requiem Mass will be streamed live on.

Kathleen Margaret McDonagh nee McDonagh 11 Riverside Park,Queensferry, UK. Died peacefully surrounded by her loving family.

Sadly missed by her loving husband John, her adored sons, John Tyson, James, Arthur and Paddy, grandchildren, her daughters-in-law, nieces, nephews, relatives, neighbours and friends.

Reposing Moloneys Funeral Home Monday 10th from 3pm to 5pm.. Removal at 5.15pm to St Peter & Paul’s Church, Portlaoise arriving for 6pm. Funeral Mass on Tuesday 11th at 11am. Burial after in St Joseph’s Cemetery, Mountmellick.

Anthony (Tony) Christie
Connolly Street, Mountmellick, Laois

Died suddenly at his home on Thursday 6th of March.

Tony is predeceased by his loving parents Kitty & Jack and his sister Veronica.

Tony will be deeply missed by his heartbroken wife Sheila, his sons Gary and Shane, daughters Lisa and Laura. Grandchildren Alex, Sophia, Conor, Saoirse. Goddaughter Hailey & little sister.
Ellie, Alannah, Daniel, Dylan and Ryan.

Daughters-in-law Kim & Aine, son-in-law Donell, mother-in-law Mary, brother-in-law John and his wife Gwen & sister-in-laws.

Extended family, neighbours and a large circle of friends .

Reposing at Moloney’s Funeral Home, Mountmellick (R32 PC95) on Saturday the 8th from 5pm to 7pm. Recital of The Rosary at 6.30pm. Removal from his home on Monday morning at 10.45am to St. Joseph’s Church, Mountmellick arriving for Requiem Mass at 11:00am. Burial afterwards in St. Joseph’s Cemetery Mountmellick.
