Established in 2005, Portlaoise Golf Course is an 18-hole private members course on the edge of Portlaoise town.
We are looking to recruit a full-time permanent Greenkeeper to join our team. You will support the golf course manager in the maintenance and development of the golf course and facilities.
The role will consist of cutting tees, greens, surrounds and fairways, course setup, preparing and maintaining the golf course including maintaining around the clubhouse and car park, aerating and applying top-dressing and fertiliser.
You will also assist in winter projects such as tee and bunker construction and drainage.
Working within a small professional team, you will essentially be a person who is enthusiastic and a team player, committed to hard work and who sets and achieves the highest possible standards.
You’ll be competent in equipment use and machinery operation.
You will be expected to work flexibly and be part of rota to cover weekend requirements. You will be required to work out doors in all weather conditions.

Requirements
Ideally you will have at least 1 – 2 years’ experience in a similar role.
However, we would be willing to consider a newly qualified person or someone looking for a career change, ready to accept a new challenge.
A Sports Turf qualification would be an advantage, but not essential, although a willingness to learn is a must. The candidate must be a team player, with attention to detail and a passion to achieve excellent result.

- Salary negotiable depending on qualifications and experience with weekend hours paid as overtime on top of this figure.
- The salary will be reviewed upon successfully completing a 6 month probationary period.
- Further training will be provided to the right candidate.
