The devastating news has left a community in shock at the tragic passing of a much-loved and popular young boy.

2 – Tribute paid as man who died following collision with a car outside Stradbally named

It was an extraordinarily tragic week on our roads in Laois.

As well as young Aaron Hussain, a man also died following a fatal road traffic collision which occurred on the N80 at Crannagh, Stradbally.

The man who sadly passed away is Paddy Mulhall, aged in his 70s, and from Crannagh just outside Stradbally.

Laois County Councillors have given their support for a private housing development on the site of an old filling station in Portlaoise.

Planning permission has been applied for by Portlaoise Service Station Ltd – the company behind Downey’s Centra close by – for six two-storey townhouses on the Dublin Road in Portlaoise.
