Ballyfin National School launches extraordinary ‘Dash to 44 Challenge’ AstroTurf fundraiser

A Laois school has launched their latest fundraiser as both the school and the community strive to afford a proposed new AstroTurf pitch.

Ballyfin National School’s “Dash to 44 Challenge” is a unique fundraising event set to take place on March 22.

This extraordinary challenge aims to raise funds for the school’s new AstroTurf facility while simultaneously attempting a record-breaking feat.

The Dash to 44 Challenge will see 50 brave runners to participate in this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity as they attempt to complete one lap of each of the 44 GAA pitches across Laois within just one day.

This gruelling test of endurance and teamwork promises to be an unforgettable experience for all involved.

The challenge begins in Clonaslee at the home of Clonaslee-St Manman’s and will culminate at the Ballyfin GAA grounds.

The event is expected to take approximately 15 hours.

Speaking about the fundraiser, Ballyfin NS Parent’s Council said: “The addition of this multi-purpose sports surface will greatly benefit the students and the local community, providing a modern space for various sporting activities.

“Together, we can create a lasting impact on the future of sports and education in Ballyfin.”

For more information or to get involved, contact Ballyfin NS at 057-8755225, or email office@ballyfinns.ie.

Those who wish to donate can do so here, where over €18,000 has already been raised.
