Planning permission underway for major new development at Laois soccer club

A Laois sports club is on the verge of a major development after a recent application was submitted for consideration to Laois County Council.

St Anne’s Football Club, based in Ballylinan, have received pre-validation for a series of substantial projects at their grounds in Aghanure.

The main development would see the construction of an Astroturf pitch which will come complete with all associated drainage, floodlighting and fencing.

The club are seeking to extend their carpark as well as constructing a new walkway track at the grounds.

The application outlines plans for the installation of floodlighting to the training pitch as well as the extended car-parking area.

In the clubhouse, the club are hoping to convert an existing storage room into a meeting room / all-purpose space.

The club play in the Carlow and District Football League.

Pre-validation has also been granted to Timahoe GAA Club to revise the layout of their previously approved plans for a ball wall and an AstroTurf playing area.

The application related to permission granted in July 2024 to construct a five-meter high ball wall with a fence enclosure and an adjoining astroturf playing area.

Shared Access Limited have been granted permission to erect a 24-metre monopole structure to support 18 telecommunications antennae at Lyonara Cold Stores, Clonminham Business Park, Portlaoise.

The works will also include the installation of dishes, fencing, cabling, compound area, ground based equipment cabinets, and PDBs.
