February remains a busy month across the county, with Laois County Council awarding planning permission, in one form or another, to a variety of applications.
Two of the successful applicants are for new projects set to be undertaken in Ballinakill.
Adam Brennan has received planning permission for a site in Aughnacross to construct a wellness and accommodation facility.
The facility will include nine individual holiday units, each measuring 33.8 square-metres.
A 200-meter natural swimming pool and all associated wellness facilities is also planned.
The application also grants approval for the renovation and extension of an existing stone structure into an admin building.
There will also be modifications to an existing passageway entrance, the construction of a wastewater treatment system, as well as the installation of a solar panel bank.
Construction company Fogarty Formworks, meanwhile, have been pre-approved to begin construction on a small housing development.
The approved site is located on the Castlecomer Road in Ballinakill.
The development is for four two-bedroom dormer/storey and a half type houses.
The four houses will all be contained in one single terrace.
