The Laois senior footballers and hurlers have discovered when their postponed National League Round 1 fixtures have been refixed for.
The Laois footballers were due to begin last Saturday away to Leitrim but the game was called off due to a lack of electricity.
The problem was caused by Storm Ewoyn and still wasn’t rectified by Sunday with the venue in Ballinamore not playable.
The game has now been refixed for the same venue on Saturday, February 8, at 2.30pm.
It means that the footballers will now play for five weeks in a row – starting on Sunday at home to Offaly on February 2.
After Leitrim, they face Sligo at home (February 16), travel to Kildare (February 22) and host Antrim (March 1).
They have a week off then before concluding with Clare at home (March 15) and Fermanagh away (March 23).
Tommy Fitzgerald’s hurlers were due to face Westmeath on Saturday but the game in Mullingar was postponed due to a frozen pitch.
This game has been refixed for Sunday, February 16, in Mullingar at 2.30pm.
That now means the hurlers will play for four weeks in a row as they face Offaly this Sunday at 2pm in O’Moore Park.
They have Waterford away on February 9 before the Westmeath refixture a week later.
They host Carlow on February 23 before having a week off and then travelling away to Antrim on March 9.
Their campaign then concludes at home to Dublin on March 22.
