Laois County Council open helpline for those who need support post Storm Éowyn

Laois County Council have opened a helpline for those who need support following the impact of Storm Éowyn.

According to powercheck.ie, there are premises still without power in locations across the county.

These include: Ballylinan, Vicarstown, Emo, Mountrath, Camross, Ballyfin, Durrow and Crettyard.

As a result of this, Laois County Council have opened a dedicated helpline for support.

A spokesperson said: “The Laois County Council Local Coordination Group met this morning and continue to liaise with An Garda Siochana and key agencies.

“In response to an emerging humanitarian need following Storm Éowyn, Laois County Council have opened a Community Response Support Helpline for those who need support post Storm Éowyn.

“The support line is available on 057 868 9301 from 9.30am to 4.30pm on Monday, January 27.

“The public can also email incidents@laoiscoco.ie for support.

“Emergency calls should be directed to 999 or 112, in the normal way

“Laois County Council will continue to liaise with the community based response initiatives such as are in operation in Shanahoe and Mountrath.

“Laois County Council have been advised that Bloom HQ, Mountrath will be open from 8.30am on Monday for any member of the public to charge devices and tea/coffee.”
