Camogie: All-Ireland semi final place secured as Heywood record massive win

All-Ireland Colleges Camogie ‘C’ Senior Championship Quarter Final 

Heywood Community School are through to the All-Ireland Colleges Camogie C Senior Championship semi final.

That is after they were comprehensive winners over St Dominic’s of Cabra in Heywood this afternoon.

Eimear Murphy top scored with nine points but this was a proper team performance.

Heywood made the perfect start with a point from Kaylah O’Meara and a goal from long range from Molly Cummins.

St Dominic’s managed four points in the first half but Heywood led 1-7 to 0-4 at the break.

And they lifted their performance serious levels after that to absolutely blow St Dominic’s away.

Hollie Brennan scored their second goal and the points continued to flow.

St Dominic’s were held scoreless as Brennan, Murphy, Niamh O’Shea, Katie Doyle and Grainne Dowling pointed for the Laois side.

Heywood now progress to the All-Ireland semi final on Saturday February 1 – opponents and venue to be confirmed.
