Laois community groups urged to apply for funding under Laois Community Groups

A Laois TD has called on local community groups to apply for the Local Enhancement Programme.

Fianna Fail’s Sean Fleming has called on those who are eligible to apply for this funding.

This government funding supports local groups for capital projects to improve their facilities, purchase sports equipment or help them with running costs.

This funding will help communities and make their facilities more accessible to everyone, while also supporting local groups with operational costs such as sports equipment or electricity bills.

Development of community centres and community amenities, improvements to town parks, public spaces and recreational areas and much more can be supported with funding through this scheme.

Deputy Fleming said: “This will benefit local families and the local community that use these facilities.

“I encourage Laois community organisations to apply for this funding through Laois County Council.

You can apply online or with a paper application.

“The closing date for applications is Friday February 7 at 4pm.”
