Special information evening announced to help reignite Laois Community Games

A special information evening event has been announced in the hopes of reigniting Laois Community Games in 2025.

The event will be held in the Maldron Hotel, Portlaoise, on Thursday, January 16, at 7.30pm.

Cairn Community Games is a volunteer-led initiative that inspires children and young people to get involved in sport, art, and cultural activities in a friendly and inclusive environment.

It is all about building confidence, celebrating community pride, and encouraging participation, regardless of ability.

“This is a fantastic opportunity to bring the spirit of Community Games back to our county, and we’d love your support,” said Aishling Joyce, Community Games Volunteer Support Officer.

“To make the Laois Community Games a success, we need the help of enthusiastic volunteers, organisers, and supporters.

“Whether you’re interested in helping to organise events, volunteering on the day, or simply spreading the word, your involvement will make a real difference.

“If you or anyone you know might be interested in getting involved, please come along on the night to find out more.

“We’re excited to share our dates 2025 and hear your ideas.”
