Gardai in Laois are appealing for information following a robbery and assault which occurred on New Year’s Day.
Gardai say that the incident happened between 10.35pm and 10.45pm in Portlaoise.
The robbery and assault happened at the junction of Greenmill Lane and the Mountmellick Road.
Gardai are seeking information on two men and one woman who were spotted acting suspiciously around the time in the area.
A spokesperson is asking anyone with information to contact them.
They said: “Gardaí from the Detective Branch in Portlaoise are investigating a robbery and assault that occurred in Portlaoise yesterday, Wednesday, 1st January 2025, between 10:35 PM and 10:45 PM, at the junction of Greenmill Lane and the Mountmellick Road.
“We are seeking information about two males and one female who were observed acting suspiciously in the area during this time, particularly near Mountmellick Road, Greenmill Lane, and in the Dunnes Stores car park.
“If you witnessed anything unusual or have dashcam footage from the area, please contact the Detective Branch at Portlaoise Garda Station on 057 867 4134.
