Larry Dunne. Ballyfin rd Portlaoise. 28th December 2024 Passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family. Beloved husband of Frances , and dearly loved father to Alan, Karol, Joan, and Sarah. Cherished grandfather to Séan, Eoghan, Aidan, Leannán, Bonnie, Nina and Barra.

Deeply regretted by his loving family. Sons in law Gordon and Peter, Daughters in law Nicola and Carol.’Brothers in law, sisters in law. Nephews, nieces. Relatives and friends and former colleagues in Laois County Council.

May he rest in peace. Reposing at Keegans funeral home on Monday from 6 pm till 8 pm. Removal from his home on Tuesday to arrive at SS Peter and Pauls Church for 12 noon requiem mass. Interment will follow in SS Peter and Pauls Cemetery.

Michael Jacob Snr.

Pearse Avenue, Mervue and formerly of Riverside, Galway, Kilkenny and Co Laois.

On December 27, 2024, Michael passed away surrounded by his loving family in Waterford in his 95th year. Predeceased by his wife Eileen, grandson Daniel and most recently by his partner Marie Mulryan, parents John and Elizabeth and siblings Peter, Sean, Terry, Fabian, Kathleen, Bridie, Agnes and Sr Theresa.

Deeply mourned by his children Angela Smith, Michelle Gill, Gerard, Michael, Peter, Anthony, Elizabeth and Theresa Kilgannon, also by his sons-in-law Dennis, Albert and Simon, daughters-in-law Diane, Ursula, Carol and Rebecca, brother Cyril, sister Bernadette and by his grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Reposing at the Church of the Holy Family Funeral Parlour, Mervue on New Years Eve, Tuesday, December 31, 2024, from 4 p.m. with Removal to the Church at 5.30 p.m. Please note that the new entrance to the funeral parlour for Reposing is through the Church (H91FH52).

Requiem Mass will be celebrated for Michael on New Years Day, Wednesday, 01 January 2025 at 11 a.m. and following Mass he will be laid to rest in the new cemetery, Bohermore alongside his wife Eileen. Livestream Link for Mass: https://www.churchtv.ie/mervue/

Michael (Henry) McDonald
Farnans, Wolfhill, Laois, R14 K663/Ballylinan, Laois/Athy, Kildare

Henry passed away peacefully after a short illness, surrounded by his family in Midlands Regional Hospital, Tullamore on the 27th December. Deeply regretted by his loving wife Pauline and sons Jamie and Josh.

Henry will be sadly missed by his brothers and sisters Mary, John, Liam, Ray, Noel and Erica, his father and mother-in-law Andy and Mary Hosey, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

Reposing at his home (R14 K663) on Sunday afternoon (December 29th) from 4pm with prayers at 7pm. Removal on Monday morning (December 30th) to St Anne’s Church, Ballylinan for Requiem Mass at 11am.

Burial afterwards in Ballylinan Cemetery. House private Monday morning please.

McGLINN (Killiney, Co. Dublin and formerly of Portlaoise) – December 27th 2024 (peacefully) at home surrounded by his family. Frederick Joseph (Derrick) (late of RTE). dearly beloved husband and best friend of Anne, much loved and adored father of Greg, Eric and Dianne. Sadly missed by his loving wife, sons, daughter, son-in-law Stephen, daughters-in-law Noeleen and Ursula, grandchildren Stone, Leah, Anthea, Adam, Saoirse, Sadhbh and Shauna, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nephews, nieces, relatives, friends and neighbours.

Michael McManus Address 19 The Garden Village, Portlaoise and previously 36 Thomond Road, Ballyfermot and Henrietta Place, Bolton Street, Dublin peacefully at home surround by his loving family.

Pre-deceased by his father Thomas, mother Annie, sister Hannah, brother Thomas and wife Carmel.

Survived by his wife Olive, daughters Maria and Anita and step sons Keith and Karl and son-in-law Diarmuid, Grandchildren Sarah, Sean, Cillian, Erin, Maya and Caitlin, sister Mary and brother Seamus, relatives, neighbours and friends.

Reposing in his home on Tuesday from 5pm. Recital of The Rosary at 6.30pm. Removal on Wednesday at 11.15am to Ss Peter and Paul’s Church Portlaoise for Requiem Mass at 12 noon.

Burial after in Ss Peter and Paul’s Cemetery Portlaoise.

Sharon Scully (née Blackie)
Salem House Clara Road, Tullamore, Offaly/Portlaoise, Laois

Sharon died on December 28th 2024 at St. Brigid’s Hospice The Curragh Co. Kildare. She is formerly of Glasgow Scotland and Portlaoise Co. Laois.

She is sadly missed by her loving husband Martin, daughter Lindsey, mother Eleanor, sister Pauline, relatives and many friends.

Annie Connolly
Upper Rossmore, Carlow/Laois

Annie Connolly of Upper Rossmore and formerly of Clogrennane, Bilboa, Carlow, Co. Laois, passed away peacefully, on December 27th, 2024, at her home.

She will be sadly missed by her loving cousins, relatives, good neighbours, carers and friends.

Reposing at Carpenters Funeral Home, Shamrock Square, Carlow (Eircode R93 C863) on Saturday, December 28th, from 4pm concluding with Prayers at 7pm that evening.

Removal from there on Sunday morning at 10.30am to The Church of the Blessed Virgin Mary, Mayo, arriving for Funeral Mass at 11am. Burial afterwards in the adjoining cemetery.

Felix Bennett, Glendowns Portlaoise . 24th December, 2024.

Passed away peacefully after a short illness at St. James Hospital. Son of the late Felix and Catherine Bennett. Brother to Noel and Richard.

Funeral arrangements will be announced later.

Marian Bonham (née Monaghan)

Peacefully in the care of Ballard Lodge Nursing Home. Predeceased by her husband Sean. Deeply regretted by her son Jonathan, sister Deidre, and brothers Pat and Declan , nieces , nephews , relatives and friends.

Reposing in the Chapel of Rest adjoining the Church of the Most Holy Rosary Abbeyleix from 5pm on Thursday with prayers at 7 pm. Requiem Mass on Friday in the Church of the Most Holy Rosary Abbeyleix at 2.30 pm. Interment afterwards in St. Patrick’s Cemetery.

Glasnevin, Dublin/Ballybrittas, Laois

DUNNE, Tom (late of Glasnevin and formerly of Ballybrittas, Co Laois and late of SIPTU) 22nd December 2024 (peacefully) in the tender care of the staff of the Mater Hospital, surrounded by his loving family.

Tom, beloved husband of Mary and devoted father of Declan, David and Veronica.

He will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by his wife, sons and daughter, daughters-in-law Roisín and Clodagh, son-in-law Liam, cherished grandchildren Luke, Niamh, Claire, Thomas, Daniel, Aobhin and Aoife, brother Peter, sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nephews, nieces, relatives, friends and neighbours and many work colleagues.

Reposing in the Fanagan Kirwan Funeral Home, Ballygall Road West on Sunday (29th December) from 4pm to 6pm with family in attendance.

Funeral on Monday morning (30th December) to Our Lady of Victories Church, Ballymun Road arriving for 10 o’clock Requiem Mass. Funeral thereafter to Dardistown Cemetery for burial.

Marie Nolan (née Sheehan)
Dundrum, Dublin/Portlaoise, Laois

NOLAN (née Sheehan), Marie – (Dundrum, Dublin and late of Portlaoise), peacefully at Blackrock Hospital, 23rd December 2024. Beloved wife of the late Gerry and much loved mum of Geraldine, Declan, Amanda and Cathal. Predeceased by her brother Seamus. Deeply regretted by her family, granddaughters Ella and Alana, sister Angela, brothers Eamon and Frank, sons-in-law Donal and Aditya, sisters-in-law, extended family and friends.
