Full list of properties sold in Laois during November as market shows significant signs of recovery

There were 120 residential properties sold in Laois during November according to the Property Price Register, an increase of 3% on the 2023 figure.

After three consecutive months of decline, including a severe drop of 62% in September, the news for November will be a welcome respite for the industry.

In total, there was approximately €34 million spent on houses in Laois this November – double what was spent here in October and about €5 million more than the same month in 2023.

This is a huge turnaround for the property market in Laois, which had been in the midst of a very worrying quarter.

The average price for a house in Laois, fell off a cliff in recent months, dropping as low as €218,750 in October.

However, the penultimate month of the year sees the average price of a house in the county now over €283,000.

The year-on-year figures show a significant increase, up almost €31,000 on the figure from this time 12 months ago of €252,175.

This was a huge month for the property market in Laois, with three properties exceeding the €600,000 barrier, two breaking the €500,000 barrier, and six exceeding the €400,000 barrier.

On top of that, a further 50 properties exceeded the €300,000, bringing the total to 61; this represents over 50% of all properties sold, and is almost double the number from November 2023.

The most expensive property in Laois last month was sold in Spink for €625,000; followed closely by a €620,000 property in Portlaoise and a €600,000 in Ballybrittas.

Another property in Portlaoise sold for €595,000, while €505,000 was paid for another house in Ballybrittas.

There can be some anomalies in the figures on the Property Price Register but it is regarded as the most accurate barometer of activity on the residential property scene in Ireland.
