In the build-up to Christmas, a Laois outreach group are preparing to celebrate the culmination of over half a year’s worth of work.
The Laois Traveller Action Group are set to launch of their first ever Traveller Cookbook.
The launch will be held on Tuesday, December 17, at the Dunamaise Theatre, Portlaoise.
The event will run from 5pm to 7pm, with light refreshments to be served.
The Laois Travellers Women’s Group (LTAG) have worked tirelessly over the last six months to produce this lovely book.
Inside, readers can find pafrs filled with traditional, every day, hearty recipes, stories of times gone by and images of the enjoyable project it has been.
As part of the Adult Literacy for Life campaign, the LTAG were able to receive funding to work collaboratively on this project with LOETB Community Education department.
There were 11 ladies who embarked on this project, and each of them look forward to showcasing this beautiful piece of culture, literature and art.
