Laois fighter Eoghan Chelmiah preparing for karate World title defence in Miami

A Laois man is well on his way to becoming one of Ireland’s most recognisable stars in combat sports as he gears up for a massive World Title fight in the USA.

Eoghan Chelmiah, a former student of Knockbeg College from Arles, will head to Miami, Florida where he will be in the main event of Karate Combat 51 (KC51).

Chelmiah will be proudly representing Ireland as he defends his newly-won Bantamweight World Title belt against Miami native Arturo Vergara.

The Laois star won the title in July thanks to a stunning ten-second knockout of American Jordan Winski at KC48.
