Business Briefing: EventBooth – creating a dedicated network for professionals

Laois Chamber Alliance CEO, Jackie Carroll, caught up with Angela Afieghe of EventBooth to discuss web event management, life in Laois, and much more…

Tell us about your business in one sentence!

“EventBooth is a comprehensive web event management solution designed as a one-stop shop for event professionals to manage ticketing, attendee interactions, and enhance their visibility in the industry.”

What inspired you to start this business?

“I was inspired by the challenges I faced as an event organizer, especially the fragmented process of managing different aspects of events and finding professionals in different locations where I plan destination events.

“I wanted to create a seamless platform that would simplify the process, empower other event professionals and make tem visible.”

What’s the story behind your business name?

“The name ‘EventBooth’ reflects the concept of a single booth where all event needs — from planning and ticketing to attendee management — can be met, encapsulating the essence of a one-stop event management solution.”

What sets your business apart from the competition?

“EventBooth is unique in its integration of a Planner’s Hub, just like LinkedIn but specifically tailored for event professionals, creating a dedicated network where industry players can connect and collaborate.”

What’s the most unique or surprising service or product you offer?

“The Planner’s Hub within EventBooth is particularly distinctive.

“It’s not just a directory; it provides active networking opportunities and visibility to event professionals, just like having a dedicated social media platform.”

What is different and compelling about what you offer?

“Apart from standard event management, our platform’s capability to integrate networking directly with event planning and execution sets us apart, providing real-time benefits to users before, during, and after events.”

Are you running any offers/news or events at the moment, what should we book into our diaries?

“We are currently gearing up for the first EventPro Connect Conference on May 3, 2025, at the Killeshin Hotel in Portlaoise — a must-attend for industry professionals, Business owners and PR professionals looking to expand their knowledge and networks.”

Can you highlight some of the key achievements of your business?

“A standout achievement for EventBooth this year has been the remarkable sale of over 1,000 tickets through our platform, catering to a diverse range of events including conferences and business networking sessions.

“We have had the privilege of facilitating events for reputable organizations such as BNI, Toastmasters, and IKEA, among others.

“This accomplishment has not only significantly enhanced the operational efficiency and outreach of our users but has also solidified our reputation as a reliable and effective event management solution.”

What are some of the biggest challenges your business has faced, and how have you overcome these?

“One of the biggest challenges we’ve faced at EventBooth has been raising awareness for our Planners Hub and securing funding through grants, which we have yet to receive.

“To tackle the marketing challenge, we have intensified our digital marketing efforts, utilizing targeted campaigns and strategic partnerships to increase visibility.

“Although securing grants remains an ongoing process, we are continuously refining our proposals and seeking alternative funding sources to support our growth and enhance user satisfaction.”
