There was a double header of Higher Education action last night with big Laois involvement across both games.
The men’s and women’s Division One league finals were down for decision with DCU playing UCC in both.
For the women, they claimed their fourth O’Rourke Cup in a row as they won by a point.
A late Emma Duggan free was the difference as DCU won by 1-8 to 1-7 in the end.
There was big Laois involvement both on the pitch and off of it.
Ballyroan’s Faye McEvoy was corner back while Clonaslee’s Emily Corbet was among the substitutes.
Laois manager and Ballyfin native, Stephen Duff, was in charge of DCU while St Joseph’s forward Emily Lacey represented UCC.
That game was in the DCU Sports Complex and it was here just after that the same sides met in the Ryan Cup.
Killeshin and Laois footballer Conor Heffernan was midfield for DCU but they lost out by 0-21 to 2-13.
Both sides will now turn their attention to the upcoming O’Connor and Sigerson Cups in the new year.
