All Transition Year students from Mountrath Community School took part in their third Think Languages Day recentley.
This is run by Languages Connect to promote the learning of a foreign language.
During the week, the champion team made up of six TY students, delivered badges, word games, pens and stickers to all the junior classes in the school.
While on last Friday, all TYs took part in the nationwide initiative.
The day started with the opening ceremony followed by an online quiz about languages where our students competed against many other schools across the country.
A spokesperson for the school said: “Well done to Daniel, Amelie, Emma and Katie for getting a place on the leaderboard.
“They had a ‘just dance’ competition followed by a ISL workshop where they signed Christmas songs.
“The day was finished off with a Chinese calligraphy workshop.
“Well done to all involved especially the champion team, Aoife, Molly, Mikayla, Elisha, Kate and Taidhg.”
