Died peacefully and suddenly in the care of Droimnin Nursing Home, Stradbally, Co. Laois. Predeceased by her husband Luke. Alice will be sadly missed and always remembered by her sons and daughters Paul, Margaret (Davis), Anne (Somers), Catherine, Teresa, Luke John, Michael, Alicia (Dowling) and Olive (Gumley), sister Mary Phelan (Castlecomer), sons-in-law, daughters-in-law, beloved grandchildren and great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, relatives, good neighbours and her many friends.

Margaret Brophy (née Doorey), Trumera, Mountrath, Co. Laois, and formerly Ballintava, Dunmore, Co. Galway.

Margaret passed away on 25th November 2024, peacefully surrounded by her loving family and in the exceptional care of the staff at St. Vincent’s Community Unit Mountmellick. Predeceased by her parents Thomas and Margaret, sister Mary, brothers Tommy, Pat and Brendan.

Beloved wife of Edward (Ted), and dear mother to Lorraine, Aoife (Keyes), Enda and Cathal. Deeply regretted by her family, grandchildren Dylan, Josh, Aoibheann, Cian, Saoirse and Eoghan, son-in-law David Keyes, daughters-in-law Niamh and Mary, sisters Ann, Chris, Kathleen and Carmel, bothers Jackie and Michael, nieces, nephews, extended family, relatives, and friends.

Reposing at Burke’s Funeral Home Mountrath on Tuesday evening (November 26th) from 5.0’clock, concluding with Rosary at 8.0’clock. Removal on Wednesday morning (November 27th) to St. Fintan’s Church Mountrath, for Requiem Mass at 10.0’clock, followed by Burial in St. Fintan’s Cemetery Mountrath.

Michael John Cummins
Cricklewood, London and formerly Castlemarket, Attanagh, Portlaoise, Laois/Kilkenny

Michael John Cummins, Mora Road, Cricklewood, London and formerly of his beloved homeplace, Castlemarket, Attanagh, Portlaoise, County Laois and Lowhill, Attanagh, Kilkenny. A loving Husband, Dad, Grandad, Brother, Son, Uncle and dear friend, he peacefully died on the 17th November 2024. Predeceased by his parents John and Ellen (née Nolan) Cummins, his brother Laurence, his sisters Mary Kane, Eileen Conwat and Julia Manning. His nephews Martin Kane and Gerard Cummins and his niece Frances McGuinness Hennessy.

Deeply regretted and sadly missed by his loving wife May, his daughter Colette, son David and grandchildren; Hayley, Jordan, Shea, Ethan, Brogan and Kyle. His daughter in law, Karen Cummins and son in law Philip Bergin. One of eleven, he leaves behind brothers Kieran and Joe and sisters, Teresa, Kathleen, Ann and Cecilia. Brothers in law, sisters in law, nephews, nieces, extended family and many friends from Ireland and the UK, particularly Jimmy Willis from Cork.

It was always a great joy to be in John’s company and he loved all things hurling, music, family, friends and laughter. Happiness was his main aim and motto in life. A great Kilkenny Man and one who we shall have forever in our hearts.

His funeral will take place Tuesday, 10th December 2024, St Agnes’ Church, Cricklewood.

Killeen, Rivetstown, Birr, Offaly/Rathdowney, Laois

Ronald (Ron) Sothern, Killeen, Riverstown, Birr, Co. Offaly, and formerly of Grogan, Rathdowney, Co. Laois, November 23rd, 2024, (peacefully) in the wonderful care of the staff at The Midlands Regional Hospital, Tullamore.

Predeceased by his parents George and Edith and brother Bryan.
Ron will be forever missed by his loving daughters Sara and Amber, partner Ronnie, brothers; George, Charlie & Harry, sons-in-law Nihar and Brian, his beloved grandchildren Moksh and Darsh, nephews and nieces, extended family, kind neighbours and friends.

Reposing at Boyd’s Funeral Home, Birr, (R42YF75) on Tuesday evening from 4:30pm. – 7pm. Removal on Wednesday morning to arrive at St. Brendan’s Church of Ireland Birr at 11:45am. for Funeral Service at 12 noon. Burial afterwards in Clonoghill Cemetery Birr. Family flowers only. House private Wednesday morning please.

Tobin (nee Farrell). Elmlawn Mountmellick Rd., Portlaose . 23rd November 2024 Peacefully in the loving care of her family. Predeceased by her daughter Sharon, and husband Henry. Loving Mother to Susan, Catherine, Tracey, Nicola, Ciera, Henry, Rachel, Aideen. Cherished grandmother .and Great grandmother . Deeply regretted by her brothers Paddy , Noel and David, Sisters Mag, Catherine. Esther, Tisha and Geraldine. Sons in law, Brothers in law, Sisters in law. The extended Tobin and Farrell family. Nieces, nephews

Reposing at her residence from 4 pm on Monday with rosary at 8 pm. Removal on Tuesday to arrive at SS Peter and Paul’s Church, Portlaoise for 12 noon requiem mass. Interment afterwards in SS Peter and Pauls Cemetery.

Patrick (PJ) Conlon
Parnell Street, Mountmellick, Laois

Died suddenly at home today 23rd November 2024. Predeceased by his parents Pat and Sally, brother Ray.

Beloved husband of Breda, father to Alan and John, He will be sadly missed by his wife Breda, sons Alan and John, daughter-in-law Jennifer, Alan’s partner Lorraine, grandchildren Seàn, Ronan, Lucy, Caolàn and Róisín, brothers Fr. Seàn (Ballinakill), Brendan, Dermot and Declan, sisters-in-law, nephews and nieces and his wide circle of friends.

Reposing at Moloney’s Funeral Home Mountmellick from 5pm Monday evening with Rosary at 7.30pm. Funeral on Tuesday 26th arriving to St Joseph’s Church Mountmellick for 11am Requiem Mass with burial afterwards in St Joseph’s cemetery.

Family flowers only please, donations in lieu to Irish Cancer Society.

Thomas Fox, Convent View, Athy, Passed away peacefully on Saturday 23rd November, surrounded by his family and in the loving care of the wonderful staff at St. Vincent’s Hospital, Athy. Sadly, missed by his loving wife Anne, Daughter Annette, Granddaughters Jesse and Georgia, Great grandson Aidan. Extended family, neighbours, and friends

Thomas will repose at Thompson’s Funeral Home, Chapel Hill, Mount Hawkins, Athy (R14 NX80) on Monday 25th November from 4pm until 6pm. Removal on Tuesday Morning at 10.45am to arrive at St. Michael’s Parish Church, Athy for Requiem Mass at 11am. Private Cremation will take place later.
