56 Ashgrove, Tullow Rd, Carlow Town, Carlow/Tinryland, Carlow/Ballylinan, Laois

John Joseph (Jack) Carter of 56 Ashgrove, Tullow Road, Carlow and formerly of 15 Kernanstown, Bennekerry, Co. Carlow and Ballylinan, Co. Laois, passed away peacefully, on November 14th, 2024, under the loving care of the nurses and staff of St Luke’s Hospital, Kilkenny.

Beloved husband of Elizabeth (Betty), much loved father of Mary, Ann, Liz, John, Denis and the late Christopher, cherished brother of the late Denis, Patrick, Bridget, Maureen and Lilly, adored grandfather of Clare, Marvin, Gavin, Rebecca, Kelly, Edward, Leeann, Michael, Chloe, Leon, Nicole, Samantha and Josh, treasured son of the late Denis and May and father-in-law of Michael, Tommy, Nora and the late Dermot.

He will be sadly missed by his loving wife, sons, daughters, grandchildren, his 14 great-grandchildren, sons-in-law, daughter-in-law, brother-in-law, sisters-in-law, nephews, nieces, neighbours, relatives and his many friends.

Reposing at Carpenter Bros. Funeral Home, Shamrock Sq, (Eircode R93 C863) on Saturday, November 16th, from 3pm, concluding with Prayers at 7pm that evening. Funeral Mass on Sunday at 12 Noon in The Holy Family Church, Askea, followed by Funeral afterwards to St. Anne’s Cemetery, Ballylinan, Co Laois, for burial.

Family flowers only please. Donations, if desired, to Askea Day Care Centre. House private please.

Tess, (Teresa), Marren (née O’Connell)
Raheny, Dublin/Vicarstown, Laois

MARREN, (Teresa), Tess, (nee O’Connell), (Raheny, Dublin formerly Vickerstown, Co Laois) passed November 15th 2024, peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family, predeceased by her loving husband Peter, very sadly missed by her children Mary, Gerard, Tommy and Brendan, son-in-law, daughters-in-law, her thirteen grandchildren, great grandchildren, extended family, relatives, neighbours and friends.

Reposing at her Residence on Sunday 17th November from 3pm until 6pm. Removal on Monday morning to St. Monica’s Church, Edenmore, to arrive for Funeral Mass at 10am and thereafter to Dardistown Cemetery, Cloghran. Mass can be viewed via link here. 

June Thompson
Shrahane, Mountrath, Laois

June Thompson, Shrahane, Camross, Portlaoise, Co Laois, passed away on the 14th November 2024, peacefully under the loving care of the staff of Midlands Regional Hospital Portlaoise. Predeceased by her parents Richard (Dick) Thompson and Amy Thompson (née Walsh). June was a kind and gentle person with a strong faith, who worked as a nurse for many years.

Johanna McCann (née Hennessy)
Walkinstown, Dublin/Stradbally, Laois

McCann (née Hennessy) Johanna, 13th November 2024, (Walkinstown and formerly of Ballymaddock, Stradbally, Co Laois); peacefully after a short illness at St. James’s Hospital. Beloved wife of the late Patrick, much-loved mother of Eamon, Brendan, Una, Yvonne and Paul and loving sister of Eileen, Patricia and the late Maureen, Fr. Dan, Liam and Fintan. Predeceased by her son-in-law John and daughter-in-law Jacqui.

Johanna will be forever loved and sadly missed by her children, sisters, daughters-in-law Donna and Freda, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, the extended Hennessy and McCann families, neighbours and friends.

Reposing at the Brian McElroy Funeral Home, Crumlin Village on Saturday from 3pm to 5pmFuneral Mass on Monday (18th November 2024) at 10am in Church of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary, Walkinstown followed by Burial in Bohernabreena Cemetery.

Green Mill Lane, Portlaoise, Laois

John Joe Ging. Green Mill Lane Portlaoise. Died 11th November 2024. Peacefully at home. Predeceased by his parents Joseph and Katie, siblings Ann, Kathleen, Mary and Willie (Son). Deeply regretted by his loving brothers, Tommy, Paddy and Christy, nieces, nephews, extended family, neighbours and friends.

Reposing at his residence on Monday November 18th from 4pm till 8pm with rosary recital at 7pm. Removal on Tuesday November 19th at 11:30am to SS Peter and Paul’s Church for 12noon requiem mass. Interment afterwards in SS Peter and Paul’s Cemetery Portlaoise.

Frances Lalor (née Dann)
Ballymullen, Errill, Laois, R32 XY28

Frances Lalor (nee Dann), Ballymullen, Errill, Portlaoise, Co. Laois, November 13th. 2024, unexpectedly at Midland’s Regional Hospital, Portlaoise.
Predeceased by her husband Ted, parents Joseph and Emily and daughter-in-law Brenda.
Sadly missed and lovingly remembered by her family, Yvonne, Raymond, Adrian and Edna, her adored grandchildren Julian, Emily, Maggie, Lucy, Hayden and Charlotte, daughters-in-law Elva and Linda, sister-in-law Annie, brother-in-law Sam, nieces, nephews, extended family, neighbours and a wide circle of friends.

Reposing at her residence Ballymullen, Eirrill (Eircode R32 XY29) on Friday November 15th from 4 o’clock until 7 o’clock and on Saturday November 16th from 4 o’clock with prayers at 8 o’clock. Removal on Sunday to Castlefleming Church (Eircode R32 XK57) arriving for funeral service at 3 o’clock. Interment afterwards in the adjoining churchyard.
