Laois U-20 FC: Crettyard-Spink keep semi final hopes on track with win over Ballylinan

Crettyard-Spink 1-18 Ballylinan 1-4
Laois U-20 Football Championship Group A Round 3

Crettyard-Spink maintained their 100% record in the 2024 Laois U-20 football championship following victory over Ballylinan.

The amalgamated side ran out 14 point winners over Ballylinan in Crettyard.

This was Ballylinan’s third straight defeat and means that they have been eliminated from the competition.

Crettyard-Spink defeated Na Fianna Og in Round 1 and were in control of this one from the start.

They led 1-9 to 0-1 at half time and it was a case of game over by that stage.

Ballylinan kept plugging away in the second half and did get a consolation goal but Crettyard-Spink were in control.

They have a quick turnaround as they are out again on Sunday against Mountmellick Parish Gaels.

That game is in Crettyard and if the home side win, they will be in a very strong place to claim a place in the last four.

Ballylinan are due to face Mountmellick Parish Gaels in their final game on November 23 – but with them now out of the competition, it remains to be seen if that will go ahead.
