Laois band Cua are gearing up to perform a highly anticipated show in the Dunamaise Arts Centre, Portlaoise.
The concert, which is set to take place on Thursday, December 5, will be one of the last big events of the entertainment calendar in Laois this year.
It makes up a crucial part of the groups ongoing European tour, taking in Ireland, the UK and Germany.
Cua, which comprises of Shane Booth, John Davidson and Ros O’Meara, has seen their popularity soar in recent times.
The group blends guitar, fiddle, bouzouki, percussion and harmony arrangements to create a folk style that incorporates elements of music from Ireland, Scotland and much more.
The Cua live experience has been compared to such greats as Planxty and Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young.
The trio are currently touring the UK, showcasing the release of their latest studio album.
Cua will be performing at the 2025 Celtic Connections – Glasgow’s annual folk, roots and world music festival that celebrates Celtic music and its connections to cultures across the globe.
Celtic Connections 2025 will take place in venues across Glasgow from January 16 to February 2 next year.
Cua are also preparing to tour Germany during March of next year, with 20 dates around the country, including shows in Berlin, Dresden, Hamburg, Mainz and much more.
The Dunamaise show is an opportunity for the people of Laois to see a local band enjoy huge international success.
