The CCFL season has burst into life in recent weeks, with all the Laois teams weaving their own interesting path through their respective leagues.
In the Senior Division, Mountmellick United and Clonaslee United are back in action after the two faced off against each other last week.
Mountmellick were 3-1 winners away to Clonaslee last Sunday as they return to Conor Davis Park to face Monksland Unites, with the Athlone team sitting second from bottom while Mountmellick are up to fourth.
Mountmellick have recruited three former Emo Celtic players in Stephen Norton, Darren Strong and Nigel Murphy, with the resturn of Colm Coss making John Nelson’s side a formidable force in the top tier.
Clonaslee are away from home as they look to bounce back from last week’s defeat with a trip to Frank O’Connell Park to play Birr Town.
The clubs are just 30 minutes apart and are joined at the hip on three points towards the wrong end of the Senior Division.
Rosenallis head to Ferbane to play Gallen in Division 1, with the Offaly side currently eight points better off than Paul Friel’s Rosenallis.
The bottom two sides in Division 2 face off in a big Laois derby as Portlaoise welcome Stradbally Town to Rossleighan Park.
Stradbally have picked up just one win so far while Portlaoise are a point behind after two early draws, yet to register a win this season.
