Renowned comedian and author Colm O’Regan performed his acclaimed show, Climate Worrier, to a packed audience at PJ Kavanagh’s Pub in Portlaoise recently.
The event was held, as part of the Laois Climate Action Festival, and organisers say it was one of the highlights of the festival.
The show managed to seamlessly blend humour with reflections on the issue of climate change.
O’Regan, known for his sharp wit and warm storytelling, delivered a memorable performance that tackled the anxieties surrounding climate change in a way that was both entertaining and thought-provoking.
His unique approach offered audiences a humorous yet honest look at the challenges and contradictions of trying to live sustainably in today’s world.
Colm O’Regan is a bestselling author, comedian, and creator of the popular Irish Mammies series.
He has earned acclaim for his stand-up performances, which mix keen observations of Irish culture with his own unique brand of humor.
This show struck a chord with attendees, offering comic relief alongside a serious message about environmental responsibility.
Audience members left with both smiles on their faces and a renewed sense of hope in the face of the global climate crisis.
The show was kicked off by Donal Brennan, Director of Services, Laois County Council, Donal emphasises the fact that “the festival encourages us all to engage in meaningful conversation on climate change and meaningful climate action, and how we can influence others to take action”.
The Laois Climate Action Festival, which concludes today, October 23, aims to engage local communities on the importance of taking action on climate change.
Colm O’Regan’s Climate Worrier was one of the standout events of the week, helping to amplify the festival’s message through laughter and storytelling.
