Sr. Hilda Kealy
Dun Laoighaire, Dublin/Crettyard, Laois/Kilkenny

KEALY, Sr. Hilda (formerly of Kilgorey, Crettyard, Co. Laois, and Sisters of Mercy, Eblana Avenue, Dun Laoghaire, Co. Dublin). Predeceased by her parents John and Anne, brothers Patrick, Thomas, Jim and Michael, her sisters, Sr. M. Brigid (St. Leo’s, Carlow), Margaret, Kathleen, Bridie and Sr. M. Dorothy (Sisters of Mercy, Dún Laoghaire).

Deeply regretted by her many nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews, extended family, her Mercy Community and a large circle of friends.

Reposing Monday (October 21st) In St Michael’s Hospital Chapel from 4pm to 5.30pm. Sr. Hilda’s Funeral Mass will take place on Tuesday (October 22nd) in St Michael’s Hospital Chapel at 11.00am and can be viewed online at www.memoriallane.ie/livestream followed by burial in the Community Cemetery, Golden Bridge.

Veronica (Vera) Keegan (née Shiels)
Cloneyhurke, Portarlington, Offaly/Mountmellick, Laois

Formerly of Lord Edward Street, Mountmellick, County Laois. Peacefully surrounded by her loving family at the Regional Hospital Tullamore. Predeceased by her husband Andy, father Patrick, mother Margaret, brother-in-law Joe and all other family members.

Deeply regretted by her loving son John and his partner Eileen, daughter Mary and her husband John Glesson (Kilcormac), sisters Moira Croker (Australia), Angela McDermott (New York), grandchildren Jenny and her husband Jason, June, Michelle Andrew, Colin, Ronan, Shane and Andrea and their partners, great-grandchildren April, Ellen. Aoibhlinn and Oisin, nieces, nephews, extended family, neighbours and friends.

Reposing at Maher’s Chapel of Rest Portarlington (eircode R32 X5XV) on Tuesday evening from 6:30pm with Rosary at 8pm. Reposing on Wednesday evening from 5:15pm with Removal at 6:50pm arriving St Michael’s Church Portarlington at 7:30pm. Requiem Mass on Thursday morning at 10am. Funeral afterwards to St Michael’s Cemetery Portarlington.

Vera’s Evening Reception Prayers and Requiem Mass will be streamed live on.

Patrick (Pat) Poole
Sarsfield Street, Mountmellick, Laois/Rosenallis, Laois

Patrick (Pat) Poole, Sarsfield Street, Mountmellick and formerly of Capard, Rosenallis, Co.Laois.

Died peacefully on 19th of October 2024 surrounded by his loving family and under the care of the wonderful nurses and staff of the Midland Regional Hospital, Portlaoise and formerly cared for by the Midland Regional Hospital, Tullamore and Droimnin Nursing Home, Stradbally, Co. Laois.

Predeceased by his wife Josephine, his parents Joseph and Susan, his brothers Peter, Maurice, Lorcan and his nephew Muiris.

Deeply regretted by his brother John Joe, nephews Joseph, Fergal and Aidan, nieces , Antoinette, Jane, Veronica, Eilish, Susan and Olive, sisters-in-law Anne and Maureen, relatives, neighbours and friends.

Reposing in Moloneys Funeral Home, Mountmellick (R32 PC95) on Monday 21st of October from 5pm. Recital of the Rosary at 7pm. Removal on Tuesday at 10.30am to St Brigid’s Church, Rosenallis arriving for 11 O’Clock Requiem Mass. Burial afterwards in St Brigid’s Cemetery, Rosenallis.

John Walsh
Loughteague, Stradbally, Laois

John passed away peacefully at his home in Loughteague on Friday morning, October 18th 2024.

Beloved husband of Mary (Kerr) and loving father to Brigid (Quigley), Anna (Malone) and Siobhán. Predeceased by his parents Denis and Bridget, brother Tom, and infant daughter Angela.

Deeply regretted by his sister Maureen (Ryan), brothers Jim, Denny and Pat. Cherished grandfather to Michael, Eóin, TJ, Pádraig and Anne. Sadly missed by his sons-in-law John and Garrett, brother-in-law, sisters-in-law, nephews, nieces, relatives, great neighbours and friends.

Reposing at his home (R32 KC97) on Saturday and Sunday from 3pm with prayers on both evenings at 8pm. Removal by Whelehan Funeral Directors on Monday for 12 noon Requiem mass in The Church of the Holy Cross Ratheniska, which can be viewed on the church webcam https://www.portlaoiseparish.ie/ratheniska-webcam/ Interment to follow in the adjoining cemetery.
