The 2 Johnnies, Basshunter and the Vengaboys are set to rock a festival in Dublin next summer – and so will The Timahoe Male Choir.
Damien Bowe, Fr David Vard and their merry band of Timahoe singers have been named on the bill for Pints In A Field 3 on June 7, 2025.
The 2 Johnnies’ Pints in a Field festival took over St Anne’s Park in Dublin last year and it has been confirmed to return again in 2025.
Pints in a Field 3 will also welcome one of Ireland’s best loved country singers – Jimmy Buckley.
Jimmy will join a stellar support line-up which includes trad-rave superstars Supercéilí direct from West Kerry, plus the Junior B All Stars, Noel Furlong, Paddy Fong and many more to be announced.
Speaking about The Timahoe Male Choir on their Podcast this morning, Johnny Smacks and Johnny B are delighted to have them on board.
Johnny B said: “As seen on our television show, it is Fr David and The Timahoe Male Choir.”
Johnny Smacks added: “They are not getting backstage access because they are too much craic and there are too many of them.
“But Fr David Vard is coming with the Timahoe Male Choir to perform – straight from Electric Picnic where they performed twice and were hot.”
Johnny B explained how Fr Vard had text him to say that Damien Bowe, who leads the choir, is the lead singer with a wedding band called The Vows.
But luckily, they are not scheduled to play a wedding on June 7 so he is available to go.
Johnny Smacks said: “This is not just any Damien, he was in the band D-Side with Derek Ryan.”
He then proceeded to burst into a line of ‘Real World’ and wondered would the choir be able to sing that.
He said: “They have done two stages at Electric Picnic, but this will be their biggest gig yet.”
