Rosenallis National School has been approved by the government for a special education needs classroom.
The news was confirmed recently by Minister for State at the Department of Foreign Affairs, Sean Fleming.
The Fianna Fail TD expects the construction of the classroom to quickly.
Deputy Fleming said: “I welcome this news for Rosenallis National School.
“This new classroom will provide a special classroom for children with special education needs.
“The building of this new classroom will provide quality resources that these children deserve and will be important for the local community and the growing numbers attending the local school.
“I thank the school management, the parents and all involved for their work on this and doing everything in their power to meet the educational needs in the area.
“Finally, I want to thank my colleague, the Minister for Education, for approving this project for special education in Laois.
“I look forward to this project progressing as soon as possible.”
